Texas Wild & Starter TreesThe next class is September 25, 2010 at 10am, lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours, and will include from one to six people. You will need to arrive here by 9:30am. The class is $125.00 per person, in advance, and includes the subject tree, bonsai soil required, drainage netting, and chopstick. In this class you will learn the basics of how to make a shohin-size (up to 8") bonsai, styling, potting, and maintaining. This is a hands-on class. You start with plant material and at the end of the class you will have a complete bonsai that you have made yourself.
Items needed for class are: wire, 1.5mm ($9.49) pot (vary in price from $8 and up) recommended tools: - Japanese bonsai shears ($24 and up) alternatives: - sharp-pointed pair of scissors - Japanese root rake ($10) - a regular table fork - Japanese wire pliers ($56.95) - needle-nose pliers - Japanese wire cutter ($46) - diagonals/wire cutters Any of these items that you don't already have, we stock at our store.
